Hager-Richter Geoscience, Inc. was founded in 1984 and has grown to be the largest geophysical specialty firm in the northeast. The firm generally works as a subconsultant to engineering, environmental, or construction firms, and has earned a national reputation for innovative applications of geophysics for environmental and engineering investigations. Hager-Richter owns the state-of-the-art geophysical equipment and data analysis capabilities to provide a comprehensive range of geophysical surveys and has a proven ability to work at sensitive sites in a professional and timely manner.

Hager-Richter is led by Dorothy Richter, P.G., President, and Gene Simmons, Ph.D., P.G., Vice President. Dorothy Richter has over 35 years professional experience in geology and geophysics and is the founding principal of the firm. Her professional experience includes positions as Staff Research Geologist at MIT, as Chief Geologist for an international quarrying company, and, since 1984, as the leading Principal of Hager-Richter.  Ms. Richter is a member of the New Hampshire Board of Professional Geologists. Dr. Gene Simmons is an internationally recognized expert in Geophysics. He has been Vice President of Hager-Richter since 1989, when he took early retirement from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he had been Professor of Geophysics for 24 years (and is currently Professor Emeritus). Dr. Simmons also was Chief Scientist at NASA's Manned Spacecraft Center (now Johnson Space Center) in Houston during the Apollo missions to the Moon.
